This Privacy Policy explains how Yahtz collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit the website, create an account, join a game, or use the scorekeeping service.

Yahtz is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. Do not use Yahtz or create an account if you are under 13.

• Account information, such as your name, email address, profile image, authentication identifiers, and sign-in activity provided through Clerk.
• Game information, such as invite codes, player names, score sheets, score history, player colors, timestamps, and game settings.
• Device and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, approximate timestamps, cookies, and similar technologies needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
• Communications you send to us, including support, privacy, or abuse reports.

How We Use Information

• Provide, authenticate, operate, maintain, and secure Yahtz.
• Create and sync games, scorecards, invites, history, and leaderboards.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and technical issues.
• Respond to support, privacy, legal, or security requests.
• Analyze and improve reliability, performance, usability, and features.
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms.

Cookies and Authentication

Yahtz uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, including authentication, session management, security, and remembering service state. Some cookies are set by Clerk as our authentication provider. These cookies are required for account sign-in and cannot be disabled inside Yahtz without affecting the service.

How We Share Information

We may share information with:

• Service providers that help us host, authenticate, store, secure, analyze, or operate Yahtz, including Clerk, Vercel, Supabase, and Upstash where those services are configured.
• Other game participants, when you join or create a game and your player name, scores, and game activity are visible inside that game.
• Authorities, courts, or other parties when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or service integrity.
• Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy or a replacement policy.

We do not sell personal information for money.

Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Yahtz, maintain game history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. We may delete inactive game data, test data, or account-related data when it is no longer reasonably needed.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to appeal or lodge a complaint with a regulator. California residents may also have the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and be free from discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

Children

Yahtz is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should use strong account credentials and protect your devices.

International Users

Yahtz is operated from the United States. If you access Yahtz from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the service or by other reasonable means.
